Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a technique to compile and evaluate the inputs, outputs and the potential environmental impacts of a product system throughout its life cycle, from raw material extraction, manufacture, distribution, use and final disposal.
In this online course you will learn the basics of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and the tool SimaPro. The course includes practical exercises with the software SimaPro, so you will need to have a computer (not Mac).

Jenny is a bioengineer, she holds a Master’s Degree in Integrated Water Management from the University of Cadiz (UCA, Spain) and is an expert in Occupational Risk Prevention Auditing. She has 15 years of experience in the field of sustainability, having founded Solar Projects in 2010, where she works as a consultant and course instructor. She has conducted Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies for the toy, metalworking and fishing sectors and has calculated the water footprint for the Murcia water company (Spain). She has taught circular economy, LCA and water footprint at different universities and organisations in Spain, such as UCA, Fundación Campus Tecnológico de Algeciras, WaterXpert and Marwen Ingeniería. Furthermore, she has trained employees from various companies based in Latin America (Repsol Peru, Centro de Investigación y Agricultura Tropical in Colombia, Secretaria de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales in Mexico). Lastly, she acts as a technical expert for water footprint certification bodies for the Mexican Accreditation Entity (EMA), is a member of the Latin American Water Footprint Community of Practice and the EsAgua Water Footprint Network in Spain.
